Scraptherapy!!

Scrapbookgraphics Chat

Scraptherapy Chat tonight at SBG

We're having another scraptherapy chat tonight at 9 in the SBG chatroom...hope you'll come and play!!

Here's a preview of the template I'm giving away, which is
what I used for my layout.

And don't forget about Maya's sale, which is coming up tomorrow, for one day only everything is 50% off! Starts Nov. 16 at noon until Nov. 17 at noon. You should really stop and check out Maya's stuff and pick up a few things. Her quirky quotes are fabulous, and her new calendar is absolutely beautiful. And take a few minutes and look at her older stuff. There are elements in those kits that I have overlooked, but when I stop to look at stuff I see things that are just to-die for! So don't forget to check it out!

Norman the Gnome's visit to my house!!

Well Norman, the rogue gnome from Scrapbookgraphics has been to my house, and he had a lot of fun! He sure did keep my family busy! So here's a recap of his visit.

First up, he spent a little time resting on the couch with Matthew and Tofu. He was still bandaged up from one of his previous visits. Then he insisted, much to Will's dismay, on running IN the cage with the bear at our local wildlife preserve! I can't believe there weren't more bandaids to follow that incident!

Then Kate gave him some hairdressing tips. Looks to me like he might have been tipsy at the time. She was trying to convince him that the eleventh grade look would work for him. He's not so sure...but he was trying not to hurt her feelings.

Then he spent a little more quality time with Matt, who was trying to convince him to go downtown to the local "Metal Show" with him. He wanted to go, but I thought the two of them together might end up in trouble.

So he spent the evening with Tofu instead. Wow, the two of them wound up on coffee together is something I just want to forget! They were trying to see who could squawk the loudest, and she taught him to say "here kitty kitty kitty..."

So the next day he tagged along with John on a scuba diving trip. John was a little aggrevated, as you can plainly see, but Norman had nitrogen narcosis and didn't seem to care in the slightest.

Lastly, he spent a little time with Jeremy. They want to go oversees and be court jesters, but I told Jeremy he can't skip fifth grade to go on the road with the gnome. I do, however, think Norman is on his way....I guess we'll find out!

So, I guess we'll see...he's bound to pop up somewhere. If you haven't met him yet, check him out here - Studio Skinny @ SBG Wow, I gotta go get some rest after a few days with this rambunctious houseguest!!!

See you all later!

ps: all headwear and bandaid from Studio Maya, and everything from his Cuppa Joe layout with Tofu from Studio Ronna

I did this layout with Maya's Highschool Confidential kit, with some doodles from Dani B's Digital Grafitti. This was way outside my "box", but I love how it turned out. Kate likes it too, she really enjoys my work, which is good because she is, obviously, my most featured subject! (the boys aren't quite as cooperative for me and my camera, especially Matt). I loved doing this layout, and I have a few more ideas for different kind of stuff like this, I like doing stuff that's not the "norm" for me, and that's part of why I'm so happy to be in Studio Crew...Maya (and the other Studio Girls, but especially Maya) has stuff that encourages me to go in directions with my work that I've not gone. This is good for me, and I suggest you might do some of the same. I"m going to try an "out=of-the-frame" layout, with a photo of my bird, and try to make it look like she's coming off the page. I'll let you know how it goes. Anyway, thanks for taking a peek here!

I've been tagged!!

...by Brenda Kempf at Addicted to Digital. Thanks for the easy one Brenda, this won't take me two days like some of the ones you see floating around!!

5 Weird Things…

1. I have a cockatoo, named Tofu, and she drinks coffee with me every day (yes right
out of my cup)!!

4. The big toe on my left foot is 1/4 inch longer than the one on my right foot!!
(had it shortened during bunion surgery)
5. I am totally obsessed with my digital camera and photoshop, although none of you
will find that weird, only my family does!!

List 5 Weird things about yourself or your pets.
Tag 5 Friends and list them
Those people need to write on their blogs about 5 weird things, state the rules, and tag 5 more people.

Have a great day everybody, happy scrapping!! And be sure to sign up for the newsletter at Scrapbookgraphics - you never know...I might have had something to do with a certain goodie in it...

I'm part of the Studio Crew @Scrapbookgraphics!!

Wow, I'm excited...been keeping this one to myself for a while now. But I'm on the new Creative Team (the Studio Crew) for the designers at Scrapbookgraphics...such a bunch of talented women! I've loved these designers for so long (Ronna Penner was my first "fave" designer), and now they've added Meridith Fenwick and Sylvie (Sausan Designs). I've had a great time already working with the beautiful designs there already...there is so much to chose from it's hard to know where to begin! We've all been getting aquainted with each other and figuring out what our tasks are. Maya is amazing to work with, she is definitely the queen of digi-scrap if you ask me!!. You'll probably be seeing another one of my templates being given out real soon. Anyway, check it out , I love it!! Scrapbookgraphics

Yikes! I neglected my blog!

Wow, it's been a while since I've posted. I guess I've been busy...getting the kids back to school (uggh shopping), and we went to 1000 Islands for a diving trip, and last week we took the kids to Six Flags, and the kids and I rode the Superman roller coaster 10 times! I have to scan in the photo of the 4 of us that we got, it's so funny! We rode it over and over trying to perfect our pose. Anyway, I have a fun summer template almost done, and I'll be posting it soon. And...I have something else going on and I'll be doing some revamping of my blog soon! So, until next time...

Hey Peeps got a question...

So I've given away a couple of templates and have ideas upon ideas swirling around my mind for more. Do you think they are "sellable"? Would anybody out there buy these things from me? I am just looking for some preliminary feedback.
Thanks again!

Tyler at Topsail Beach

I did this layout the other day, but I wanted to post it here because it's so cute! It's a scraplift of one of Christy Lyle's layouts.

A Free Layered Template!!

Well I'm finally giving this a try. These templates are quite the trend, and I like making them because I don't have to come up with cute titles and witty journaling...which is where I usually end up stuck. So I'm not gonna blab on about it, I'm just gonna post it and see if it works. Please if you try to download and the link has expired please let me know! I redid this link so it includes a preview, TOU and instructions. Ugghhhh I'm getting there....sometimes I think I'm too old to be learning all this stuff....just joking - it keeps my brain young!

Oh by the way, I had Oreo put down :( I miss her a lot, she was a wonderful pet. No more puppies....no more puppies....no more puppies.....maybe if I say it enough I'll be able to stick to it.

Oh and thanks Christy, you're awesome!

:(

I took Oreo to the vet yesterday because she has been lethargic for the last few days. They did bloodwork, x-rays and I was informed that she has terminal cancer. What a shock! I cried, and cried, and cried some more. I guess I'm going to have her put to sleep tomorrow....I don't want her to suffer, and she is. She won't come in the house, she hardly even gets up off the ground and she is having a lot of trouble breathing. I will miss her, and I'm sure I will be posting more of my layouts of her...but I probably won't do any more. I don't know....it's really hard to think about right now. I know one thing though....I am thanking God right now that it's not one of my kids. I can't imagine if it hurts this much when it's the dog....I just can't imagine. She's been a great pet, I love her so much. Tomorrow will be a really hard day. Oh well.....

Uggghhhh....

I am a bad blogger, just like all the other bad bloggers out there in blogland. Oh well, I haven't really felt too great this week, and I haven't scrapped much either. I have some new kits I have to get to work with for Christy, and I finally got my scraplift done, I'd been working on that one for a long time. So here it is, it's a lift of Amanda's Am I in There layout, which I love, it is what inspired me to buy the tag book kits to begin with. So, I guess now I better get busy, I want to have the three layouts from the new kits done today!!!

Hey I'd love to know who's visiting me here!!

Hi all! I would love to know who is visiting me here at my happy little home on the web (and if it's you Mom you better leave me some loooove!!)! Anyway, I have a shoutbox in the right hand sidebar down toward the bottom....leave me a little note with your name (then I can stalk your blog, lol)! I'm new to this blog thing and the visitor counter (which I think looks stupid by the way, gotta change that), is growing! How exciting, but I would love a little note or two in that stupid little box! Who knew a blog would be so much fun (as well as a wonderful learning experience, lol)
Thanks!!! Liz

My first layout as a Lyle Lunatic!!

Well I worked on this layout for longer than I should have, but I like it. It's a scraplift of a layout by the talented Pattie Knox, whose gallery I could scraplift from day after day...she has a great style! So I used some awesome stuff from my new stash of Christie Lyle products, all available at Sweet Shoppe Designs (if I wasn't so tired I would figure out how to make that into a clickable link...oh well maybe I'll tackle that tomorrow, lol). Anyway, I have been having fun playing with all this stuff! And are you all as excited as I am about the Scrapartist sale and free kit this week? I know I am...there are a couple of kits I want to get (like I really need anymore...but who can resist a good sale)!

Well I'm really tired and have a very early doctor's appointment (because of my terrible high blood pressure), so I'll catch up more tomorrow. So until then...

Tuesday, July 25, 2006

Gosh!!

All I've done all day is play with my blog!! This is a terrible new addiction! I have to not spend so much time doing this and more time actually scrapping! But I got a cute new Shoutbox, and have rearranged things, oh and I downloaded, unzipped and organized lots of stuff today, so there was that. Keeping the kits & elements organized is really essential, I've learned how much that helps after I actually went through and organized everything. Sure is amazing what I've accumulated, but I love it all! So...I gotta get busy on some layouts with Christy's stuff, got some great stuff to work with (Expecting Sweet Stuff, how yummy)!! So, until next time....

Monday, July 24, 2006

It's Monday...

And my lips are zipped...about something...more to be said later. What's going on here...let me see...nothing. I'm gonna work on a freebie today, I think a chalked alpha like the one in my layout of drew...I really liked how that alpha came out. And of course I always have the goal of getting a page or two done...sometimes that happens and sometimes not. I added a chatterbox to my blog, it's down under the links...leave me some love! This whole blog thing has been a lot of fun, and of course I want all the bells and whistles. But it's gonna bug me over the next few weeks cause my computer is missing its "e" key (thanks to a certain very small redhead and a pen), and it has to be sent in to be fixed, which is fine because the CD rom doesn't work and it overheats sometimes and I want them to check that...it's very frustrating when it shuts down in the middle of a layout. So I will be using John's laptop (with my EHD) for the time it's gone, and my blog comes up funny on his screen. The posts appear, and at the bottom of all the posts the sidebar starts. That's not how I want it to look, I hope other people don't see it like that. I hope if anybody does they will let me know and I can see if I can fix it. I think it's some conflict with my slide show, but it shows correctly on my laptop. Oh well, I'm new at this. But I'm pretty proud of it so far. I wasn't gonna even bother with a blog unleess I could figure out how to make it cute like the others. Some of the blogs I've seen are so cute, I love the personalization you can do. So, enough rambling about that for now. I guess I should get something done, maybe take the kids in the pool, get a little sun, or maybe just sit here at my computer! So, until next time...

I made it!!!! I'm on Christy's CT!!

I'm so stoked, I'm one of the new members of Christy Lyle's (from Sweet Shoppe Designs) creative team! This is so great, her stuff is amazing! So...I've been like a little kid with a new toy all day! I'm looking forward to getting to know Christy (who seems really really nice so far) and all the other ct members. I think this is gonna be a lot of fun! Just what I needed - a reason to spend more time at the computer, lol! Oh well, until next time...

Some new pages...

So I did some pages today with some quick pages that Christy Lyle sent me, they just screamed to me "pool pics!" They were a gift for applying to her ct, which I would love to get!

More progress....now work on a freebie!

Okay, I've got a counter up, a blinkie, a couple more links, and I've joined another web ring. This has been so much fun! Now I want to start working on some freebies, and figure out how to post them so people can download them. Oh well, one thing at a time, I have gotten a lot accomplished today! So, until next time...

New Heading on my Blog!

Wow, I've learned a lot today! I've learned how to make a header for my blog. I learned how to put in links for my favorite stores & blogs. I joined the digi-scrap ring, and put up my slide show! This is actually kind of fun, and I'm actually kind of happy with it.

I've had a great time shopping for digital scrap stuff lately. I bought Kim Christensen's Rad kit, I absolutely love love it! And of course a day without a new Jen Wilson kit is like a day without sunshine, lol. I love all the element packs I got last week from her shop, they were a dollar each, and I got all 12 of them. What fun! So...I guess I'd better get busy with some layouts!

Well I guess that's all for me for tonight. Nobody is reading this blog but me anyway, but I'm just so happy that I accomplished so much here today! Until next time...

A Slide Show!

Well I figured out how to put up my slide show! I'm so excited, I really want to figure this all out. I like my yahoo blog too, it's quite colorful and fun...but this one is more practical I guess. So, until next time...

My First Post

Okay I really want to do this whole blog thing, and this is my third one that I've started. I am looking for one that will give me all the different features that I want, and I really really want to have a slide show of my layouts. So.....we'll try this one! Wish me luck!
